Yuri Gorbachev was born on December 29, 1948, outside of St. Petersburg in the former USSR. Between the years of 1956 to 1972, Yuri attended many different universities which include: Borovichi Ceramics Institute, Leningrad State University in the department of philosophy, Odessa State Teachers College, Department of Paintings and Graphics in the former USSR.
Gorbachev has traveled extensively for the last seven years, during which his artistic style developed from naïve to sophisticated, and the result is his most intricate works to date. Yuri has created a unique, advanced technique developed and used only by him, which contains precious metals like gold and copper along with specially formulated lacquers over oil on canvas.
Yuri Gorbachev has received international recognition as an artist in exhibitions at major museums, cultural institutions, and galleries. Yuri’s artwork is present in more than twenty major museums, including the Louvre in Paris, Stockholm Art Museum in Sweden and the Kremlin Museum in Russia.
