In 1942, Marco Massimo Sassone was born in Italy. He studied painting in Florence in the 1950ís and 1960ís, and also studied architectural drafting at the Galileo Galilei Institute. In 1967, Sassone moved to California and began exhibiting his artwork.
Marco Sassone has spent over 30 years maturing his unique style and developing his use of brushstrokes in combination with color. Sassoneís current work focuses on landscapes and cityscapes from southern Italy, mostly in the seaboard of the Amalfi Coast, Venice, and Florence. In these pieces, there is a new dominance of intense greens and blues. While the color has intensified, the representation of forms has become less substantial. Over the years, Marco Sassone has become the focus of various documentaries, books, and catalogues.
